ALSAD in AWRC Accelerator Programme in UK

ALSAD Medical has been selected, as one of the 5 startups which can participate in the AWRC Wellbeing Accelerator Programme in the United Kingdom. We are working with the AWRC Team and a broad range of mentors since early September. We attended several workshops, met the other selected startups (both UK-based and international) and preparing for a research project with Sheffield Hallam University experts.

The AWRC Wellbeing Accelerator is a rolling programme running from April 2020–March 2021. It supports startups, academics and businesses working in wellbeing with mentoring, sector expertise and specialist facilities. The programme does not take equity and is funded by Research England, co-ordinated and facilitated by Sheffield Hallam University’s Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre.

ALSAD is a tool which we believe fits well to the Research Centre’s impact theme called “Living well with chronic disease — exploring the management and treatment of chronic disease, such as cancer, stroke, musculoskeletal disorders, diabetes and mental health“.

We believe that this accelerator programme can support the ALSAD Team to get a deeper understanding of the UK market. It will also broaden our horizon as well as extending our contact network in the UK. Travel is restricted so the programme is currently organised using virtual channels.

We would like to thank the AWRC Team (especially Simon Butler, Kimberley Holland, Terry Senior and Ryan Sylvester), and the Department of Investment and Trade (DIT) for support and the opportunity to participate in this accelerator programme.
